The 6th annual Adapterra Awards, organized by the Partnership Foundation and Integra Consulting, celebrated innovative projects addressing climate adaptation in the Czech landscape and urban areas. Out of 20 finalists, winners were announced on November 6 during the Water and Public Space Conference in Prague.
Landscape: The Revitalization of Wetlands in Krkonoše National Park won for enhancing water retention, restoring peat bogs, and boosting biodiversity. Representatives from KRNAP received a CZK 100,000 grant from Nestlé Czech Republic for further adaptation measures.
Settlements: Green Transformation of Úvaly was recognized for its comprehensive approach to urban green planning, including rainwater management and climate-resilient vegetation. The project received CZK 50,000 from Heidelberg Materials.
Buildings: FORTEMIX Paskov Office Building stood out for reusing materials such as pallets and portable units, reducing costs and carbon footprint. The project earned a Growatt Infinity 1500 portable power station donated by SOLSOL.
The Kloboucká Lesní Administrative Building, constructed entirely with locally produced materials, received the award. The company highlighted its use of contemporary processing methods for traditional wooden materials. It also won a portable power station from SOLSOL.
With 2,750 votes, the Panorama Garden won the Sympathy Award. Once a rapeseed field, it now features a green roof, water management systems, and sustainable practices. The project received CZK 50,000 from Deloitte.
All winning and finalist projects are featured in the #jaknaklima online database at adapterrawards.cz, serving as inspiration for municipalities, individuals, and businesses tackling climate challenges.
