The Timber Praha project, part of the Arcus City residential complex in Prague-Řeporyje, has been named the Environmental Project of the Year in the 26th edition of the prestigious Best of Realty – Nejlepší z realit competition. Developed by UBM Development Czechia, Timber Praha is the first multi-story residential project made of wood in the Czech capital, earning it recognition as the most sustainable project in the country for 2024. The award ceremony took place on November 12 at Forum Karlín, where UBM also won third place in the “Large-Scale Residential Projects” category for its Astrid Garden development.
Timber Praha’s construction utilizes Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels, achieving the highest energy efficiency rating (A) and holding the BREEAM Excellent environmental certification. These homes include cutting-edge technologies for comfort, user convenience, and energy savings.
Tomáš Drtina, Vice President of ARTN and jury chairman, commented:
“The jury recognized Timber Praha for its pioneering approach to multi-story residential wood construction, its energy-saving features, and technologies that ensure a high-quality indoor environment with minimal environmental impact.”
Astrid Garden, located in another part of Prague, received third place in the “Large-Scale Residential Projects” category. The jury appreciated its unique architectural design, the inclusion of a tranquil courtyard with greenery, and its harmonious integration into the surrounding historic neighborhood.
