Don’t miss the afternoon Green Walk – Green Talk focusing on blue-green infrastructure, where we will visit the Vesi Hostivař residential complex by YIT, a revitalized brownfield in Prague’s Hostivař district.
YIT has incorporated several eco-friendly features into the project, demonstrating a commitment to environmental sustainability. Rainwater from storage tanks is prioritized for irrigation. Regarding renewable energy, a portion of the electricity consumption in the complex's common areas is covered by a rooftop photovoltaic power plant, resulting in energy savings and a reduction of CO2 emissions by approximately 5 tons annually. Additionally, an electric vehicle charging station is available. During construction, the developer utilized "green" concrete in some structures, where natural aggregates were replaced with crushed mixed demolition waste. This approach reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 3%, conserved natural resources, and supported the circular economy.
