On May 23, 2018, the Council of the City District Prague 8 discussed and approved the Rohan City study.
I’m happy that we finally finished all the necessary steps to make Rohanský Island a fully fledged part of Prague 8 and the city in general. For me, the most important success is the agreement that we reached with the developer, who accepted our requirements and implemented them in the project,” said Roman Petrus, Mayor of Prague 8.
The cooperation between the City District Prague 8 and the developer Sekyra Group, a.s. also involves the developer’s donation of 60 million Czk. “Our common interest is the development and support of housing in the broad center of Prague. That’s why we will use this money to build a primary school or a kindergarten in the area,” says Mayor Petrus.
The town-planning development of the project in the area of 200,000 m2 is in full swing. The developer Sekyra Group, a.s., would like to obtain all necessary permissions so the building of the first stage of the project could begin during the next year. The housing in Rohanský Island should be eco-friendly and comfortable.
The City District Prague 8 and the developer are also interested in the public views. “On Thursday, May 17, we organized the first public event – a guided tour, followed by the presentation of the Town Planning Study for the Rohan City project,“ says Deputy Mayor of Prague 8, Radomír Nepil. The event was attended by the representatives of the investor, local government, the Prague Institute of Planning and Development, and architect Pavel Hnilička, the author of the Town Planning Study. He also guided the participants through the whole affected area in Rohanský Island, and explained everything using numerous documents and materials. About seventy people attended the meeting. “It is our priority to get the people involved in what’s going on in our city district. I would like to thank everyone for their contribution,” says Deputy Mayor Nepil. The next meeting should be organized in the second half of this year.
