Czech Green Building Council supports reSITE Festival!

Next week, the world's leading voices in the field of sustainable urban design, urban planning and architecture will be in Prague to discuss the topic:

CAN COLLABORATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE DESIGN IMPROVE WATERFRONT PUBLIC SPACES AND MOBILITY AND CATALYZE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT?

reSITE Festival and Conference invites city planners, engineers, economists and architects from New York, Copenhagen, Rotterdam and Paris to debate this central question.

The main themes at the first annual reSITE are about improving the quality of urban life and public spaces with effective, collaborative and sustainable urban planning. The Festival takes place from 21 - 27 of May in Prague. The international and local participants will present different views on the creation and sustainable transformation of cities, the forthcoming Prague master plan and transformation of the waterfront.The core of the festival is a two-day international conference focused on issues of public spaces.

The event to be held on May 24th and 25th at the National Gallery-Veletrzni Palace. For the first time in the Czech Republic architects, government representatives, investors and community groups will start a discussion about the future of urban planning and begin to find solutions for issues the underutilized waterfront and transparency in urban planning that will allow for more sustainable and higher quality urban projects. The emphasis is on improving the quality of public and competitiveness of the city. Such world renowned experts are urban designer, Jan Gehl from Copenhagen, appointed representatives from Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration in New York City, Alexandros Washburn and Janette Sadik-Khan, Reinier de Graaf from the famous architectural office of Rem Koolhass and OMA in Rotterdam and deputy mayor Tomas Hudecek. Jakub Cigler, Adam Gebrian and Igor Kovacavic will also represent the Czech Republic to debate public space, mobility and the riverfront.
