Construction company VCES has brought to its final phase the construction of a complex of office buildings in Prague - Stodůlky, including the new head office of Vodafone. The new office buildings, to be completed in June 2014, are part of the CITY WEST project. The new development features 41,500 m2 of usable floor area, including 20,000 m2 of office space. The handover of the buildings to tenants and Vodafone is slated for January 2015. The investor of the construction project and the lessor of the buildings is FINEP, the architectural design and detailed design drawings were prepared by AHK architekti s.r.o. and BUILDING s.r.o., respectively.
As part of the previous phase of this development project, VCES successfully executed the new back office of Komerční banka, which was certified under the internationally recognized green building certification scheme BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) at the level of VERY GOOD.Similarly to the other buildings developed within the CITY WEST project, the new Vodafone office building was designed and is currently being implemented so as to be in compliance with the requirements for modern office space as well as an environmental-friendly building, thereby meeting the assessment criteria of the environmental building certification methodology LEED - Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design at the level of SILVER. The LEED methodology provides independent verification that a building has been constructed in compliance with strategies eliminating or directly influencing the improvement of any impacts of building construction and operation. Meeting the set requirements allows for the construction to be environmental-friendly while ensuring the reduction and optimization of operating costs of the building for future users, healthier indoor environment for occupants and lower emissions. The entire certification process has been carried out in cooperation with Arcadis CZ.
